Titanium Castings (UK) Ltd, located on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in South Yorkshire, is the only titanium casting manufacturer in the UK.

It is a wholly owned trading subsidiary of Castings Technology International, but operates independently with its own Board of Directors.

It started trading in January 2007.

The company has three roles:
development of process technologies, new alloys and new applications for cast titanium products, especially in support of strategic programmes for the defence sector.production of short lead-time, fully certified, production-representative prototypes, one-off or low volume castings using rapid manufacturing technologies.satisfying long-term contracts to supply high duty components for arduous applications

The company operates a Quality Management System which complies with the requirements of BS EN 9100:2003, AS 9100 Rev B, BS EN ISO 9001:2000

The innovative titanium casting manufacturing technology employed by Titanium Castings (UK) Ltd was developed by Castings Technology International and is available to third parties under licence.

Transfer of the technology includes the design and layout of all plant and equipment; assistance with the selection of suppliers of equipment and materials; development of manufacturing strategies and methods for proprietary titanium products; manufacture of tooling and ‘First Article Inspection’ of castings; 'hands on' training in all disciplines; commissioning of plant and equipment; and manufacturing of a sufficient volume of titanium castings to satisfy a Licensee that the facility is production-ready.

Two licensees have been operating successfully for more than 2 years now and a project is underway with
a third company.

News

TCUK is in the final review stage of gaining NORSOK approval for the supply of commercially pure titanium castings (typically pumps and valves in Grade C2) into the Norwegian Oilfield. This is expected to be fully approved in the first quarter of 2011.
